4 stars, when compared to other all-you-can-eat buffets. The appeal of Umai is a fairly decent selection of dishes plus having a very inexpensive price (ex. $19 per adult on the weekend). You pay upon entry. There is a seafood bar where you can have a staffer cook up your seafood items. Dessert items are good. You gotta like a place that has pudding, you rarely see pudding around anymore. Lots of tables, so you won't likely have to wait to be seated. Service is very good with regular sweeps of dirty dishes from your table. I also like the frequent water refills. However, I do not recommend the roast beef nor the fried calamari. Both have poor, disappointing flavors. The ambiance is fine, with one wall lined with a display screen depicting the motion in an aquarium.

Went for Saturday brunch $19 which isn't bad for AYCE. We went early, as soon as they opened.. like 11am. There were some other seniors already seated and eating.. that's a good sign when you see seniors at an AYCE. It means price is reasonable. They had a large selection of food from crab legs, raw oysters, limited sushi selection, desserts, salads and normal buffet foods. Service was good and food was good for a buffet. I'd return again. Attached a photo of their sign showing cost and hours (this was taken in Feb 3, 2024.

Came here off the strength of the last buffet was here and figured I'd give the new place a try. It also had the price outside which was helpful. I didn't read the whole sign, so maybe I would've seen that the $18.99 price didn't include a drink which is normal, but at the time I was a little shocked by the $24 for an 11:30am lunch buffet plus tip on Saturday. This place has been completely renovated and redesigned and it looks so much better. The benches are a little short on seat width but better than those wooden benches that come out too far. The decor is modern and looks great. They have a screen that wraps around that they put a moving aquarium screensaver or something. Maybe it changes? A very nice touch. The food I think is a decent amount. They have good offerings of the regulars and its looks good as far as fresh and such. I don't really like buffets like I used to prepandemic. But I try new ones in case they change. They've gone up in price understandably but I guess I just enjoy them less. That said if you like soft crab rangoons, they are great. I tried a bit of everything, it was okay. I don't like the look or texture of a lot of chinese buffet food but that said at least the presentation here is nicer. So I was going to give this a 3 star, but this is one of the area's nicest buffets and with the ambience of the screen and the renovation, I'm giving it an extra star. If you like Chinese buffets and don't need the endless selection of some, give this place a try.

Went on a sunday for lunch. It was $19 per person dinner price all day sunday. Drink was +$2.49. Food was fresh and replenished frequently. We were there for about an hour and the snow crab legs were restocked atleast two times (it was piled on high each time). Had to get a plate of this because it was fresh! Also asked the server if they had a claw cracker and she got me one right away. Service was good overall. They were attentive to refilling our drinks and took plates away quickly even though it was packed. Also appreciated that they provided napkin dispensers at the table (not all restaurants have this and some are even stingy about napkins). Loved the desserts! I usually avoid the little cakes at buffets but decided to try the mango mousse cake and roll cake and they were delicious! Light and fluffy, not too sweet. The sesame balls from the fried foods bar were a nice treat with red bean paste inside. The restaurant was decorated with halloween decor and the employees were dressed up. It was fun and festive. Umai doesn't deserve the 2.5 star rating I saw on here. Would definitely come again!

I was shocked by the low reviews so quickly after grand opening! But I would caution against expectations and pricing! It was under $20 for dinner at a Chinese buffet. It gets 4 stars for the quality food and bargain price compared to other locations. They serve sushi, cold bar with raw oysters, crawfish and crab legs. These are huge items for the price! In addition, the chinese buffet options and hibachi make this place very attractive for simple buffet cravings. The interior is super clean and well designed. I would say this is not a gourmet restaurant but worth the money and experience for a buffet like this. I would come back again!
